White noise machines
Just imagine you’re in a silent room at night. You will immediately hear a big truck passing by or a loud noise from your neighbor. However, if you’re listening to white noise, any additional noise just adds up to all the other noises and you won’t notice it. White noise helps keep a baseline of noise so loud noises like cars passing on a highway, neighbors being loud, and even thunder storms are not heard as loud as they usually would be. This also helps my dog JoJo sleep better during storms because she is extremely afraid of thunderstorms being a herding dog. (if you have a dog who is afraid of storms, try this, you will actually get some sleep.
